Whole Garam Masala Spice Blend. Garam Masala is a traditional Indian spice blend. Having it whole keeps it fresher for longer. To use, crush or grind the mixture and dry roast in a frying pan to release the flavours.
It is always better to crush whole spices using a pestle and mortar rather than an electric grinder. This avoids the transfer of heat to the spice which can cause a loss of flavour before it is put to use.
