Though there are many simple curries and dals in Punjabi cuisine, nothing beats the simplicity and appeal of Dal Tadka, comprised of split red gram lentils cooked with onions, tomatoes and generously garnished with tempered green chillies and spiced aromatic oil. This staple dish is best eaten with piping hit rotis or just plain rice.
